Exhibition Stand Design FAQ - Your Questions Answered

General Questions

exhibitionstands.com is a two-in-one platform for anyone who exhibits at trade shows. First, it lets you generate photorealistic and rendered exhibition stand visuals using our AI engine, expo.fish. Second, it connects you with a comprehensive global database of vetted trade show suppliers — stand builders, graphic printers, AV companies, furniture hire, flooring specialists, and more — so you can go from inspiration to reality in one place.

expo.fish is the AI image generation engine at the heart of exhibitionstands.com. Unlike general-purpose AI tools, expo.fish has been trained specifically on exhibition stand design, trade show environments, booth layouts, and branded display imagery — making it uniquely suited to producing accurate, relevant stand visuals in both photorealistic and render styles.

Primarily for exhibitors — marketing managers, event teams, brand managers, and business owners who exhibit at trade shows and want to visualise and plan their stand efficiently. It’s also a powerful tool for exhibition stand contractors, design agencies, and suppliers who want to win new business and reach exhibitors at the right moment.

Several things. expo.fish is trained exclusively on exhibition content, so results look like real exhibition stands — not generic architectural renders. The platform understands trade show conventions: stand sizes, shell scheme vs space-only, show environments, and industry norms. You can choose between photorealistic and render-style outputs. You can refine, tweak, and respin your designs entirely through text — no design software needed. And once you’ve generated your concept, we connect you with real, relevant local suppliers who can actually build it.

Yes — all tweaks and alterations are made through text, so no design software or technical skills are needed. Simply describe the change you want — for example, “make the back wall darker,” “add a meeting table and two chairs on the left,” or “change the counter to a curved design” — and expo.fish will apply the adjustment and regenerate the image. You can make as many text-based tweaks as you need until the design is right.

Almost anything. Common alterations include changing colours, materials, or finishes; adding or removing features like counters, meeting areas, shelving, or screens; adjusting the layout or proportions; changing signage and graphic content; modifying lighting; and switching between photorealistic and render styles. If you can describe it, expo.fish can attempt it.

Yes — all your generated designs are saved in My Designs, your personal design library within your account. You can revisit any previous design, pick up where you left off, apply new text-based tweaks, generate fresh variations, or respin the concept entirely. Nothing is lost between sessions.

My Designs is your personal archive of every stand concept you’ve created on exhibitionstands.com. Every generation, tweak, and respin is saved automatically and organised by date. You can return to any design at any time — useful for referencing past designs, reusing ideas for a new event, or continuing work across multiple sessions.

Generating Stand Images

expo.fish generates stand visuals in two distinct styles. Photorealistic images look like professional photography of a finished, built stand — ideal for marketing use, pre-show promotion, stakeholder presentations, and social media. Render style produces clean, architectural visualisation-style images with a designed, technical feel — ideal for briefing stand builders, internal design approvals, and proposal documents. Many users produce both — photorealistic images for external communications and renders for supplier briefings.

You have two generation modes. Quick Generate lets you enter a brief description and expo.fish produces results immediately — perfect for fast ideation or exploring options early in the planning process. Advanced Generate is a guided process that walks you through a series of focused questions about your stand, brand, features, show environment, and style preferences. The additional detail produces significantly more accurate, fine-tuned results, and is recommended when you want a specific outcome or are preparing to brief a supplier.

Use Quick Generate when you want to explore ideas fast or you’re in the early stages of planning. Use Advanced Generate when you have a clearer brief, a specific show in mind, or you want an image polished enough to share with stakeholders or suppliers. Many users start with Quick Generate to find a rough direction, then switch to Advanced Generate to refine it.

Use the Respin This Design button. With one click, expo.fish generates a brand new stand design based on exactly the same brief and spec — same size, brand, features, and requirements, but an entirely fresh creative interpretation. It’s ideal for when you want to see more options without starting from scratch or retyping your brief. You can respin as many times as you like until you find a direction that resonates.

Generating again from scratch means re-entering your brief. Respin This Design keeps all your original specifications locked in and simply produces a new creative interpretation — saving time and ensuring every variation is based on the same parameters. Think of it as asking a designer to show you something completely different but to the same brief.

Credits & Pricing

All image generations use credits. Every account — including free accounts — receives a daily credit allowance that refreshes every 24 hours. Additional credits can be purchased via subscription or one-off top-up. Tweaks, respins, and new generations all use credits, with the cost shown clearly before you confirm each action.

No. Every account includes free daily credits so you can generate stand images every day at no cost. Paid options are available if you need more generations than the daily allowance provides.

No. Free daily credits reset every 24 hours and unused credits do not carry over.

There are three paid options. The Starter Subscription (small fish) gives you a monthly credit allowance on a rolling subscription — cancel any time, no long-term commitment. The Pro Subscription (big fish) provides a larger monthly credit allowance for frequent users, teams, or agencies, also on a rolling subscription with no lock-in. The Credit Top-Up (cardboard box) is a one-off purchase of credits with no subscription required — ideal if you have a specific show coming up and need a burst of generations without committing to a monthly plan.  Full pricing and credit allowances for each option are on our Buy AI Credits page.

No. Subscription credits renew each billing cycle and unused credits do not carry over. Top-up credits remain valid for 1 year from purchase regardless of your subscription status.

Yes. Both subscription plans can be cancelled at any time with no penalties or lock-in. Your credits and access continue until the end of the current billing period.

Yes. Top-up credits sit alongside your subscription allowance and are drawn on once your monthly allocation is spent.

Advanced Generate uses more processing to produce a fine-tuned result and carries a slightly higher credit cost. The credit cost for every action — generation, tweak, or respin — is displayed clearly before you confirm.

The Supplier Database

It’s a comprehensive, searchable global directory of trade show and exhibition industry suppliers — covering every category you might need to bring a stand to life. This includes stand design and build companies, modular stand suppliers, graphic printers, AV and technology hire, furniture and carpet hire, lighting specialists, storage and logistics providers, and more.

Once you’ve generated or refined a stand concept, our platform analyses the design — its size, features, materials, style, and complexity — and recommends the most relevant suppliers from the database, filtered by your location and the show location, so you’re always seeing suppliers who can realistically fulfil your brief.

Yes — recommendations are geo-targeted. Whether you’re exhibiting in London, Frankfurt, Las Vegas, or Singapore, we surface suppliers who operate in or service that region. For international shows, we include suppliers local to the venue as well as trusted international contractors.

The database spans the major exhibition markets worldwide and is continually growing. We cover North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and beyond. You can search and filter by category, location, show type, and budget range.

Suppliers go through a review process covering credentials, trading history, and industry standing before being listed. Exhibitors can also leave reviews after a project, helping maintain quality and accountability over time.

Yes. Each supplier listing includes contact details and a direct enquiry form, so you can reach out with your brief — including your generated stand visual — without leaving the platform.

Yes. Any design saved in My Designs can be shared directly as part of a supplier enquiry — giving them a clear visual reference from the very first contact and making the briefing process significantly faster.

Yes. You can shortlist multiple suppliers, send the same brief and design to each, and manage responses from within your account.

For Exhibitors

exhibitionstands.com removes the two biggest hurdles for first-time exhibitors: not knowing what their stand could look like, and not knowing where to find someone to build it. You can generate, tweak, and respin concepts until you have something you love — then connect with a vetted local supplier to bring it to life, all in one place.

Absolutely. This is one of the most popular uses of the platform. A render-style image generated through Advanced Generate — refined through text tweaks until it accurately reflects your vision — gives your stand builder an unambiguous brief from day one. It dramatically reduces back-and-forth and the risk of expensive revisions.

Yes. Photorealistic images are ideal for pre-event emails, social media, and exhibitor listings to build anticipation before the show. All images generated on exhibitionstands.com are cleared for commercial use.

Yes. My Designs keeps all your concepts organised and accessible. You can revisit designs from previous shows, adapt an existing brief for a new event, respin concepts for a refreshed look, and manage multiple live projects at the same time — all from your account dashboard.

Yes. From My Designs, you can open any previous project and use it as the starting point for a new brief — keeping what works and adjusting what’s changed, such as stand size, show, or updated branding. It saves significant time if you exhibit regularly.

Generated images are creative concept visuals, not technical specifications or build guarantees. They’re designed to inspire direction and facilitate briefing. Your actual stand is designed and built by your chosen supplier to agreed specifications.

For Exhibition Stand Suppliers

Apply through the Suppliers section of exhibitionstands.com. Once approved, your company will appear in search results and AI-powered recommendations matched to exhibitors whose briefs align with your capabilities and location. Listing packages are available at different tiers depending on how much visibility and reach you want.

We offer three packages. The Standard Listing gets your company into search results and AI-powered recommendations relevant to your location and specialisms — a solid foundation for getting found by exhibitors actively planning a stand. The Enhanced Listing adds increased appearance frequency in recommendations, a richer company profile with portfolio imagery, and greater visibility in category search results. The Featured Listing delivers maximum visibility across the platform — Featured suppliers appear at the top of relevant recommendation results, are highlighted with a Featured badge, and gain placement in prominent positions on category and location pages. Full details and pricing are available in the Suppliers section of the site.

The engine matches exhibitors to suppliers based on several factors: the complexity and style of their generated stand design, stand size and budget indicators, the show location, and the supplier’s stated specialisms and coverage area. Your listing package influences how frequently and prominently you appear when you’re a relevant match — Standard suppliers appear in results, Enhanced suppliers appear more often, and Featured suppliers are prioritised and highlighted.

That depends on your growth ambitions. Standard is a great starting point for getting in front of active leads. Enhanced and Featured packages are particularly valuable if you operate in a competitive region or category, want to be consistently front-of-mind during the peak pre-show planning window, or want to showcase your portfolio to stand out from competitors. Many suppliers start on Standard and upgrade once they’ve seen the quality of leads coming through.

Yes — Featured package suppliers gain placement in highlighted positions beyond standard search and recommendation results. This includes featured spots on relevant category pages such as Stand Builders, Modular Displays, and Graphic Print; location-based pages for major exhibition cities and venues; and curated supplier spotlights on the platform. This gives Featured suppliers visibility even with exhibitors who are still in the early browsing and inspiration phase, not just those actively generating designs.

Yes. You have full control over your supplier profile through your account dashboard — updating your company description, specialisms, coverage areas, contact details, and portfolio imagery at any time. Keeping your profile current and your portfolio well-stocked improves your match relevance and conversion from enquiry to instruction.

Yes. You can change your package tier at any time through your supplier account. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.

Your supplier dashboard gives you visibility of impressions, profile views, and enquiries received — broken down by time period. This lets you see clearly how your listing is performing and whether an upgrade would meaningfully increase your reach.

Yes. Use Quick Generate for fast initial concepts and Advanced Generate for detailed proposal visuals — in photorealistic or render style. Respin This Design lets you show multiple creative directions from a single brief in seconds, and text-based tweaks let you respond to client feedback instantly. It’s a powerful tool for winning business faster.
